The F.I.R.E. Retiree’s Captain George Baker Scholarship supports students pursuing an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate of Specialization. Applicants must have obtained a minimum of a GED or high school diploma, currently be enrolled at St. Louis Community College, pursuing an Emergency Medical Technician Certificate of Specialization, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, be in good standing and submit a 200-500 word essay outlining “Why you want to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and what are your career goals.”
Upon completion of the program, eligible students may also receive an additional $500 scholarship award. It is recommended for students seeking additional funding to also review and apply to other STLCC Foundation scholarship opportunities.
Student(s) who are selected as recipients of the scholarship will be required to send a note of thanks to the donor as a condition of receiving the award. Recipients must agree to achieve and maintain a CPR license, agree to give 20 hours of community service to the F.I.R.E. RETIREE’S, and sign up as a member of the www.iabpffrecruit.com
